They are the old style "whale tale" punches, but the shapes are all current and work just as well as the current "flat" style.
Punches are a great way to easily add some pizazz and dimension to your projects. I often use a scallop circle as a small "gift tag" on a package. It looks great, and if you don't have time to stamp, you can just punch a hole, tie a ribbon through it, and write "to" and "from". At under $10 a punch, these add value to your stamping collection.
